Farer Balfour Lissom
The Balfour is the perfect example of how less can be more. Punctuating the jasmine white dial are the hour markers. These applied numerals are finished in a vivid electric blue that contrasts wonderfully with the neutral dial. The tapered hands have a matching blue finish and are filled with the latest (and brightest) Grade X2 Super-LumiNova. The polished blue surfaces of both elements are incredibly dynamic, shifting in colour as the lighting changes, whilst always being easy to read. At six o’clock sits a sunken sub-seconds dial in a warm grey that complements the main dial colour, and on either side of the numerals sit dual minute tracks in the same grey tone with blue highlights.
As you would expect, this refined dial is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. And, it’s housed within an incredibly svelte 38mm steel case finished to the highest “Grade A” standard, something that’s usually only seen on the most premium Swiss watches. It’s a markedly thin case, being just 7.95mm thick, and with its curved lugs, it hugs the wrist perfectly.
All of which makes this the epitome of modern sophistication. A watch that’s sleek enough to sit unnoticed on the wrist, with a dial bold enough to make a confident statement, and an exceptionally high level of finishing throughout every element.
